Holcim-PRB ranks high on the podium of The Ocean Race

Team Holcim-PRB completes its first Ocean Race, with a strong second position on the podium, successfully advancing its mission to go circular. It congratulates 11th Hour Racing Team for its remarkable win and all competing teams for their outstanding performances in the round-the-world race.

For its first participation in the crewed round-the-world race with stopovers, Team Holcim-PRB won two legs (Leg 1 and 2) and came first at the Tasmanian gate at leg 3, while setting new speed records and successfully remasting its boat to re-enter the race in Leg 5. These achievements are a testimony to the passion and hard work of all members of the Team Holcim-PRB on and off the water. More than thirty people were involved on a daily basis to bring this extraordinary project successfully to the finish line.

I thank all members of Team Holcim-PRB for finishing so high on the podium of our first Ocean Race six-month adventure. This achievement recognizes our unstoppable spirit, giving our best on every leg and never giving up. The Ocean Race is a unique team challenge at both a sporting and human level, requiring exceptional expertise, resilience and support of everyone.

Team Holcim-PRB sincerely congratulates 11th Hour Racing Team on their remarkable victory. Of course, we would have preferred to have fought with them on the water on this last leg, but we salute their exceptional sailing throughout the race. This year’s 50th anniversary of The Ocean Race will be remembered thanks to all the great teams. It's been a fantastic round-the-world race with all of them and an immense pleasure to compete by their side with such a high level of sailing.
